DIG Traffic Peer Muhammad Shah announced that the police are introducing a new method for issuing e-tickets: through robots.
He stated, “These robots will drive around Karachi’s crowded streets and scan cars for violations automatically.”
How It’ll Work
The robots will:
- Patrol areas like Saddar and Tariq Road.
- Travel at speeds of approximately 20 km/h.
- Scan license plates and detect violations such as improper parking or lane deviations.
- Instantaneously send e-tickets to car owners via the E-Tracks system.
Additionally, new “No Parking” and “No Two Lane” signs will be installed throughout the city to support this initiative.

Since the launch of E-Tracks just two weeks ago, nearly 50,000 drivers have already received fines. The introduction of robots aims to:
